「16-17世紀の宗教改革と科学革命の時代にとってそのテクスト群は、非常に重要であったので、1572年に創設されたヘルツォーク・アウグスト・ビブリオテーク （HAB） の最初期の頃から15世紀の哲学と神学の文献は広範囲に集められた。この分野における２次文献も継続的に収集されている。宗教改革と新科学への道を切り開いたこれらの著作は、哲学と神学の論議 （例としては、プラトンやプロティヌスの編纂、ヘルメス主義、カバラ、アラビア、そして他の東方の文献の伝搬、教会合同に関するフィレンツェの公会議などである） の中心がイタリアにおかれた15世紀に書かれたのである。近年の歴史的研究は、近代性の発展における神学と宗教の役割 （つまり、論争の宗教的裏づけ） に重点を置いてきている。従って、イタリア・ルネサンスの統一的かつ多様な諸相を若い学生たちに紹介することは道理にあうのである。このアプローチは、この時代に精通している美術史、文学史、そして、その他の領域の研究者たちへ広い視野を与えるだろう。」 ゛Because its texts were canonical for the era of the Reformation and for the scientific revolutions of the 16th and 17th centuries the philosophical and theological literature of the 15th century was collected on a broad scale from the earliest days of the Wolfenb?ttel library, which was founded in 1572. Secondary works in this field were also continuously acquired. The works which paved the way for the Reformation and New Science were written in the 15th century, when the centres of philosophical and theological debate were located in Italy - examples are the editions of the works of Plato and Plotin, the dissemination of hermetic, cabbalistic, Arabic and other Oriental writings, or the Council of Florence on Church Unity. Recent historical research has focussed attention on the role of theology and religion for the development of modernity (eg. the confessionalization debate). It is therefore logical to confront young scholars with both the unifying and the diverging aspects of theology and philosophy in the Italian Renaisaance. This approach will offer a broad perspective to historians of art and literature on an era to which they are so familiar, as well as to those from other disciplines.゛ |

そう言えばという感じで、HAB （Herzog-August Bibliothek） の国際サマー・スクールの内容が気になります。去年も申し込みは、この時期から５月頃だったと思います。博士課程に登録している人や終わったばかりの人が対象で、滞在用の宿舎と朝ご飯が提供されます。夏の1ヶ月間、ドイツでルネサンス文化の研究をしたい人には、チャンスです。HABのリソースはすごいですよ。講師陣や参加する世界各地の若手研究者との交流も刺激になります。ドイツ語会話ができれば文句なしですが、分からなくても大丈夫です。午前講義（16回）の大半は英語です。午後は自由に図書館で研究ができます。今年は通算で26回目で、これまでの日本からの参加者は、ケンブリッジのクスカワさんと僕です。クスカワさんが学生として参加されたときは、ケプラー研究の新鋭
Charlotte Methuen 氏が一緒だったみたいです。共同生活が大丈夫な人は、エンジョイ出来ると思います。それでなくても、得られるものは大きい。ちょっと調べてみたら、今年のテーマは、『15世紀イタリアの哲学と神学』だそうです。これまた、「ＢＨ的関心」から行くと２重マルなのですが、もちろん僕自身は参加できませんよ、今年は。実際のサマー・スクールがどんな感じなのかは、以下の僕の参加報告記をご覧下さい。
